書評部分:

阿倫老師所代表的角色是，在一個極為壓迫拘束的學習環境下，能夠帶給學生喘息與歡笑學習環境的一位教師。為什麼這麼說呢?從台灣社會來看，孩童大部分在幼稚園至國小，大部分都能擁有單純無慮的學習時光，能夠做自己。然而，一升上初中之後，卻要面對升學主義掛帥的情況，孩子不得不變得機械式，每天面對接踵而來的大小考試，必須乖巧地、耐心地處理這些課業壓力，才能成為一個被師長認可的角色。

然而，這些正值青年華的少男少女，適逢愛作夢、活力、創意等等特質的年紀，然而一般而言的教育體制卻加諸他們身上太沉重、又不符人性的包袱。身為教師，不應該只是一昧禁止學生談戀愛、抽菸等等舉措，不應該只是要求孩子乖乖坐在位子上，一天拼完八張考卷；而是必須要使學生了解到，什麼事是能夠做的，而且為什麼要做；為什麼不能做，去理解孩子心中的想法，進一步討論而改進。就像書中的阿倫所提到的，因為他很理解學生，他曾經也是令師長頭痛的那一種學生，所以更能夠如同在站懸崖邊，為那些瀕臨絕境的孩子們著想。

剛剛提到了阿倫有類似的成長背景，這一點也值得我們深思。身為一個優秀的教師，能夠馴服學生的那種教師，是不是過去一定是個難以被馴服的人，才更有可能獲得這份同理心呢?分析阿倫的過去，其實阿倫的父母親也是教育體制內的工作者，這樣的環境使阿倫從青年時期，為了對抗壓力的環境，尋找自我，所以也曾經有一段叛逆的過去。現在的阿倫老師，是一位打扮特殊、形象也特殊的老師，例如有一篇他談到小尋事件結束之後，學生們都敬稱他為「大哥」；學生們在課堂上開黃腔，阿倫也能用自己的一套邏輯，使學生們臣服，不再開那一類的玩笑。假設阿倫的方式是，利用說教、勸導，我想無法引起學生注意，因為那些教條就像是和學生斷了鍊結的不相干事物，無法打進學生的心裡；唯有以他們的角度，用學生聽得懂的語言去溝通，才有辦法產生雙贏的局面。

而本書的後半有一篇，內容敘述天下第一班面臨換導師的困境，阿倫要去接任訓育組長，班上同學種種可愛表現，令人感到十分溫暖。我想每一個教師都有自己的特別之處，而阿倫也是其中一個，他堅持著自己的理念，用心於班上弱勢的同學，在升學考試的時候也是為每個學生著想，與學校的菁英式教育不同。他為學生著想，理解學生，也不斷思考著更好的方式，期許未來台灣能夠有更多這樣的教師，用屬於自己的力量改變教育的未來，讓孩子們更快樂，更有自信。

What I learned from this semester

Since I entered the college, I have kept trying something special. Besides the studies, I joined some main activities which I have spent quite much time on them. Though the process is sometimes exhausting, I still think that I learned a lot from all of them.

 

One of the activities is called cultural cup, a chorus contest in NCCU. We have prepared for it from the beginning of the semester to December. I remember that everyone really did their best to go for it. We even bared our feet on the contest day. Though we didn’t win the prize, I still thought that we were the best.

 

Another activity is called Lovecamp. We go to the elementary school which is located in the country, and accompany the children in this winter vacation for almost a week. And we have to prepare a lot before the activity starts. Sometimes we had some discussions at night and we were very tired. But as the jobs were being completed one by one, I felt good and usually looked forward to realizing the plans.

 

During the activities, I found many of my classmates excellent. They know how to solve problems, and carry out what they want to do in an efficient way. I think that the next semester I also want to do something different like this semester. I want to make myself better and learn more and more.  

Save money

After I entered the college, many things cost us money. For example, the meal is more expensive in Taipei than before. And at the beginning of the semester, we have to pay for the tuition. Even now it is the end of the semester, the registration form of the tuition has already sent to us by e-mail, though the next semester hasn't begun yet. It’s really like that we always burn our money! What’s worse, if one joins in an activity, one will have to spend a lot of money on it. Because we may have a reunion with our friends, and the meal in the restaurant will cost us more.

 

So it’s really urgent that we must come up with an idea to save money! First, I have to record the expenses more carefully, and make good use of the rest money. Then, another way is considering more before I want to buy something, sometimes it isn’t really necessary. After I think about it for a while, it seems that I learn something. Since we are just student, we usually get money from our parents. So the problem isn’t only how much we can use, but how much we can cherish. Staying grateful to our parents and knowing how tired our parents work hard to earn the money are very important. And I think that saving money is a meaningful thing, so I want to do it more diligently, and try to find other useful ways to accomplish the goal>__<!!  

Movie "Perfume"

I watched a movie called “perfume” with my roommate yesterday. My roommate kept encouraging me to see the movie “perfume”, but I had heard that the movie “perfume” was very horrible, and I rejected her at first. I was too timid to see that. But she told me that it was a famous film and I should try to understand it. So at last I decided to go with her.

The movie is about a man who kills girls to make perfume. He was born with a keen nose and can recognize all the smell. But what he dreams about is the smell of the girls. To make the perfect perfume, he kills thirteen girls to make perfume. At last, the man is killed, too. It was a miserable ending.

What I learned from it is that I’m lucky to grow in a normal family. The man in the movie doesn’t have the families. Later, he is sent to be a slave. He really has a miserable life, and at last he goes crazy. I really feel sad about the man’s tragic life, and sympathize the innocent girls, too. Although the story may not be true, I still hope that all the people can live a life of happiness, praying that the world could give everyone fair opportunities to live a life of happiness.

A memorable trip for the elder

Last weekend, my dad and my mom took a trip to Kenting for two days. But what was special was that they went there with my grandparents. Because my parents thought that my grandpa and my grandma might have something different, for they usually had some routine, like having cups of tea, doing housework, watching TV, and walking around the park, and so on. So my parents decided to bring something cool to my grandparents.

As they traveled in Kenting, they did lots of things. They looked at the sea and talked delightedly on the beach. And they visited many famous spots. At night, they even went to the nightmarket to taste some delicious food. At the end, they all thought that the trip was really a good experience.

When my mom tells me what happened in the trip, I suddenly have some thought, and learned that the company with the elder is very important. The older as one becomes, the fewer activies one may have. The elder are not like the young who may do many crazy things. Their lives look a little boring. They tend to have a quiet and peaceful life. However, they sometimes feel lonely. They usually look forward to having a reunion with their sons and daughters who have been married and lived outside. What they want is just the company with the families. Though they always say "That's okay." while the families are too busy to visit them. In fact, the elder also water for someone caring about them in the mind. So I think that the trip my parents went with my grandparents must bring a good memory to my grandparents. And it's so great.

Busy life

I have been busy recently. And many of my classmates are busy, too.When I was in senior high, I usually expected that the life in college may be very relaxed. For example, we don't have to face endless tests, and we can arrange our lives in the way we love. However, what we imagine is really different from what we experience personally. As time in college goes, we have more and more activities, even a lot of reports. If we don't deal with these things well, we will feel even more stressed than we were in senior high.

However, is busy life really bad? One day, I told my friend that I feel tired. But at first she was only silent and replied me with a smile. And she encouraged me to keep going and said "Don't worry." Then, she told me that one of her friends was busy, too. The friend has been busy so far, but she really enjoyed it. She even joins a club and does a part-time work. After I heard that, I admired her so much. And I made up my mind to live my life more seriously and diligently. I want to be like her friend, who is really mature and works hard. Maybe it's a good way to make one grow up, I think.

A Baby A Hope

This is a comfortable afternoon, and I took the bus to return to my school. I listened to the music and closed my eyes preparing to sleep. Suddenly, the voice of a baby's laughter came to where I was. Out of my curiosity, I opened my eyes and looked around to find what happened. Oh, there was a baby sat on his mom's legs in front of me gazing at me. Then I responded him with a smile and waved one of my hands to say hi. And the baby laughed louder, and I laughed, too.

                                                           

I really envy that children are simple-minded. They are always curious about everything, say what they want to say, and laugh because of a very small thing. As we grow up, we may confront a lot of trouble and sometimes weep alone. A baby, I think, he will have a whole new life. That is to say, he is new to this world, many things wait for him to discover. I hope that the cute baby will have a wonderful life, staying happy as joyful as a baby until forever.
